Muckrach Castle offers luxury self catering accommodation and is situated within its own grounds in a magnificent rural location of Speyside in the picturesque Scottish Highlands within the Cairngorm National Park, an area renowned for its outstanding scenery and wildlife.
Set in an acre of beautiful gardens, the castle offers breathtaking panoramic views over the Spey Valley and the Cairngorm mountains.
Muckrach Castle's unique accommodation is split over four floors. There are five bedrooms in total, providing accommodation for eight to ten people. The castle has been sympathetically renovated to the highest standards boasting a magnificent stone walled kitchen / dining room with vaulted ceiling.
Through the glass door to the right of the kitchen is the conservatory featuring full length patio doors that lead through to an enclosed lawn area. A beautiful spiral staircase leads to the first floor and to the Great Hall which has antique pine paneling and a giant open fireplace. On the second floor the beautifully furnished master bedroom features a stunning antique four poster bed, wash-hand basin and recessed bath unit.
A modern bathroom with WC is located on this floor, together with a further small bedroom with full sized built in bunk beds, an ideal room for children.
There are two twin bedrooms on the third floor, both with separate wash hand basins and a further tower room equipped with full sized bunk beds ideally suited to children.
Muckrach castle is within easy driving distance of Inverness Airport and just 12 miles from Aviemore, where the tourist centre offers recreation for both children and adults alike. The Castle is ideally situated for guests to take advantage of the great outdoors with a plethora of activities and many walks through the stunning scenery of Spey Valley, Lake Aviemore and the Scottish Highlands.
